Disconnect a domain
Pause DNA on a domain, or move its DNS to another provider.
Pause DNA
To stop enforcement and keep everything else, go to the domain's Settings tab and click Pause DNA. Your DNS stays exactly as it is and traffic goes straight to your site. Click Switch DNA on to resume.
Move your DNS elsewhere
Your site stays up through every step. Start under Sites → the domain → Settings → Start disconnecting.
- Download your records. The page offers them as a zone file your next DNS host can import, records you added in DNA included.
- Put your previous nameservers back at your registrar. The page shows the ones the domain had when you connected it. If DNA couldn't read them then, it says so; use your registrar's default nameservers.
- DNA lets go. Each time you open the page, DNA checks the domain's public nameservers. Two days after none of DNA's remain, it deletes its copy of the zone. The wait covers resolvers still holding the old nameservers, and you can cancel any time before then.
